Welcome!

The Menominee County Historical Society was established on January 17th, 1967 by president Michael J. Anuta, vice president Frank Budmats, secretary Violet Pawlowski, and treasurer William Ferstrum.  These first officers laid the foundation for what has become one of the premier historical storehouses in the Upper Peninsula with our heritage museum, adjacent research center, and outdoor learning center.

Our mission: gather, preserve, and disseminate history of this area for the enjoyment and education of young and old, residents and travelers alike.

We are thankful for the foresight and hard work of this organization’s founders and  current members as we continue our dedication to the preservation of Menominee County’s heritage.  Please consider becoming a member to support our ongoing efforts!
